Target Background

Function

Stimulates the GTPase/ATPase activities of Obg-like ATPases. Mediates the transient calcium-dependent interaction of PYR/PYL/RCAR abscisic acid (ABA) receptors with the plasma membrane and thus regulates ABA sensitivity. Prevents hypocotyl bending as well as gravitropic response under blue light conditions.

A tropism mutant lacking the EHB1 protein, which interacts with ARF-GAP (ARF GTPase-activating protein) and thus indirectly with a small ARF-type G protein, displayed a lower gravitropic threshold for roots and also enhanced bending, while the responses of the hypocotyls remained nearly unaffected. PMID: 26496692
EHB1 negatively affects hypocotyl bending under blue light conditions in Arabidopsis and thus seems to be an important component regulating phototropism. PMID: 21367967
