Target Background

Function

May participate in meiotic recombination, specifically in homologous strand assimilation, which is required for the resolution of meiotic double-strand breaks. Mediates interhomolog recombination during meiosis.

KLU is required for normal DMC1 expression pattern in ovules undergoing megasporogenesis. PMID: 25182975
The DMC1 siRNA interfered with meiotic progression and, consequently, the flowers were at least partially sterile. PMID: 25039964
Our data demonstrate that RAD51 plays a supporting role for DMC1 in meiotic recombination in the flowering plant, Arabidopsis. PMID: 24086145
Results demonstrate that DMC1 functions independently and spatially separated from RAD51 during meiosis and that ATR is an integral part of the regular meiotic program. PMID: 22589466
