Function

Furin is likely to represent the ubiquitous endoprotease activity within constitutive secretory pathways and capable of cleavage at the RX(K/R)R consensus motif.

Study demonstrates that Furin proteases are required for Trk cleavage, and show that the Furin 1 and Furin 2 proteases act redundantly in terminal patterning in the Drosophila embryo. PMID: 26508274
