Target Background

Function

Binds to 23S rRNA in mitochondrion. Required for the formation of the proximal region of the ovule primordium during floral organogenesis, thus participating in patterning and growth of ovule. Also regulates the initiation and/or maintenance of integument and embryo sac ontogenesis. Prevents inappropriate cell death in the young ovule.
