Target Background

Function

Modulates cell morphogenesis by regulating cell wall formation and assembly, and/or growth polarization. Together with LRX2, component of the extracellular mechanism regulating root hair morphogenesis and elongation.

Gene References into Functions

Data show that modified LRX1 proteins lacking Tyr in the extensin domain are still insolubilized in the cell wall, indicating strong interactions of extensins within the cell wall in addition to the well-described Tyr cross-links. PMID: 20545889
ROL5 suppresses LRX1. Interfering with TOR signaling leads to suppression of lrx1. PMID: 20530756
Data show that the Arabidopsis root hair cell wall formation mutant of LRX1 is suppressed by mutations in the RHM1 gene encoding a UDP-L-rhamnose synthase. PMID: 16766693
