Target Background

Function

Flavoprotein (FP) subunit of succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) that is involved in complex II of the mitochondrial electron transport chain and is responsible for transferring electrons from succinate to ubiquinone (coenzyme Q).

Gene References into Functions

Data sugggest that salicylic acid (SA) acts at or near the ubiquinone binding site of mitochondrial succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) to stimulate activity and contributes to plant stress signaling by increased rates of mitochondrial H2O2 production. PMID: 28209841
SDH1-1/sdh1-1 seedlings grew considerably better in nitrogen-limiting conditions. PMID: 21921116
