Function

Guanidinium ion exporter. Couples guanidinium export to the proton motive force, exchanging one guanidinium ion for two protons. Overexpression leads to resistance to a subset of toxic quaternary ammonium compounds such as cetylpyridinium, cetyldimethylethyl ammonium and cetrimide cations.
