Description

To generate the clfA antibody, a rabbit is immunized with recombinant Staphylococcus aureus clfA (229-559aa), resulting in the production of specific IgG antibodies by the rabbit's B lymphocytes. The polyclonal clfA antibody is then meticulously purified from the rabbit's serum employing protein G techniques. This clfA antibody can be used for the detection of Staphylococcus aureus clfA protein in both ELISA and WB tests.

Clumping Factor A (clfA), a cell wall-anchored protein found in Staphylococcus aureus, serves as a virulence factor in diverse infections. This protein facilitates the attachment of bacteria to biomaterials coated with plasma proteins, enabling bacterial colonization and biofilm formation. Moreover, clfA binds to fibrinogen, playing a significant role in conditions like arthritis and endocarditis. clfA also binds to fibrinogen and plays an important role in arthritis and endocarditis, and can contribute to the accumulation of bacteria in the blood plasma.
