Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Transcription factor that may play a role in central nervous system, limb and facial development. May be involved in male sex determination. Binds the consensus motif 5'-[AT][AT]CAA[AT]G-3'.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Both Sox8 and Sox10 are jointly required for myelin maintenance and myelin gene expression. PMID: 29023979
  2. In this study characterized novel neuronal expression of the SoxE factor, Sox8, specifically within striatal projection neurons of the embryonic and postnatal mouse striatum. PMID: 28472858
  3. Concluding, this study shows that, in addition to its crucial role in testis development, Sox9, together with Sox8 and coordinately with Dmrt1, also controls adult testis maintenance. PMID: 27328324
  4. Binding of mrhl RNA to the Sox8 promoter is accompanied by the assembly of other regulatory factors involving Myc-Max-Mad transcription factors, corepressor Sin3a, and coactivator Pcaf PMID: 28461394
  5. These results suggest that Sox8 is essential in Sertoli cells for germ cell differentiation, partly by controlling the microenvironment of the seminiferous epithelium. PMID: 23595903
  6. combined RNA profiling signals, motif predictions and network data identified putative SOX8/SOX9 target genes in Sertoli cells and yielded insight into regulatory interactions that depend upon these transcription factors PMID: 23315995
  7. Sox9 and Sox8 maintain integrity of the basal lamina to prevent testis cord disintegration and both factors actively suppress the ovarian program during early testis development. PMID: 22837482
  8. Seven regions near the Sox8 gene as potential enhancers, were identified. PMID: 19638316
  9. SOX8 has a role in testis differentiation in mice and synergizes with SF1 to activate the Amh promoter in vitro PMID: 12732652
  10. Sox8 acts as a specific negative regulator of skeletal muscle differentiation, possibly by interfering with the function of myogenic basic helix-loop-helix proteins PMID: 12782625
  11. Results suggest that Sox8 reinforces Sox9 function in testis differentiation of mice. PMID: 15056615
  12. Sox8-deficient mice thus exhibited a similar, but less severe phenotype than did Sox10-deficient mice wiwth regard to oligodendrocyte differentiation. PMID: 15102707
  13. Sox8 is a negative regulator of osteoblast differentiation. PMID: 15753123
  14. We analyzed SOX8 expression in developing mouse and chick brain, focused on the cerebellum. Sox8 appeared both in oligodendrocytes and astrocytes. PMID: 15878625
  15. Loss of Sox8 did not impair oligodendrocyte specification PMID: 15893981
  16. SOX8 transactivated genes have key roles in adult Sertoli-cell function and its elimination results in progressive male infertility. PMID: 17905940
  17. SOX8 is a critical regulator of adult Sertoli cell function and is required for both its cytoarchitectural and paracrine interactions with germ cells. PMID: 18342849
  18. This study shows that testis cord differentiation is independent of Sox9, and that concerted Sox9 and Sox8 function in post E14.0 Sertoli cells is essential for the maintenance of testicular function. PMID: 19124014
  19. Data suggest a precursor-intrinsic role of Sox8 during replenishment of the adipocyte pool in adult mice and assume that disturbance of this function significantly contributes to adipose tissue degeneration in Sox8-deficient mice. PMID: 19286648
  20. Downstream genes of Sox8 that would affect male fertility are reported. PMID: 19339814
  21. Despite strong expression of Sox8 in many tissues, including neural crest, nervous system, muscle, cartilage, adrenal gland, kidney, and testis, homozygous mice developed normally in utero, were born at Mendelian frequencies, and were viable PMID: 11564878
