The production of the MBD1 recombinant monoclonal antibody involves a complex sequence of steps. First, the MBD1 monoclonal antibody is obtained, and its gene sequence is determined. Next, a vector carrying the MBD1 monoclonal antibody gene is constructed and transfected into a host cell line for culture. The MBD1 monoclonal antibody is produced using a synthesized peptide from human MBD1 as an immunogen. Following that, the resulting MBD1 recombinant monoclonal antibody is purified by affinity chromatography and tested for specificity using ELISA and IF applications. This MBD1 recombinant monoclonal antibody is only reactive with human MBD1 protein.
MBD1 is a protein that binds to methylated DNA, specifically to methylated cytosine residues, and functions as a transcriptional repressor. It is a member of the methyl-CpG-binding domain (MBD) family of proteins and is involved in gene regulation, chromatin structure, and DNA methylation. MBD1 is known to interact with histone deacetylases and DNA methyltransferases and is thought to play a role in the epigenetic control of gene expression during development and in disease states. Additionally, MBD1 has been implicated in DNA damage response, cell cycle regulation, and tumor suppression.
